Butterfly Rainforest
Florida Museum of Natural History- UF Campus

The Butterfly Rainforest is a four-story, outdoor screened enclosure with waterfalls, a walking trail, lush subtropical and tropical plants and hundreds of live butterflies. Live butterfly releases each Saturday and Sunday at 2, 3, and 4 pm, weather permitting.
Children under 3 are free. Check the website for additional information regarding ticket prices.

Visitor's Information:
Butterfly Rainforest is open all year, seven days a week except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please note: Last ticket sold 30 minutes prior to closing.
Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas

Cameras and camcorders are welcome (commercial photography is prohibited). However, due to the limited width of the paths in the Butterfly Rainforest, the following items are not permitted: tripods, backpacks and strollers. Food, drinks and gum are not permitted in museum exhibits, including the Butterfly Rainforest.

Come See How Butterflies Grow! Take a behind the scenes tour of a working butterfly farm. The tour begins in an authentic 1920’s Cracker House and continues with a leisurely walk through the butterfly gardens with lots of shady benches for visitors to stop and enjoy the scenery. The tour continues to the butterfly barn where free flying butterflies are the star attraction that will capture the imagination of the young and old alike. This truly is an unforgettable experience.

Public Farm Tours -Reservations are not necessary. Please come 5-10 minutes prior to scheduled tour time. Daily at 2:00 pm & Saturday's at 11:00 am & 2:00 pm
